Project Coordinator for the SHP Community College Collaborative

Lea Brandt, OTD, MA, OTR/L is the MHPC OTA Program Director and Project Coordinator for the Community College Collaborative which encompasses all of the Missouri Health Professions Consortium programs. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy from Creighton University in 1998, Dr. Brandt went on to earn her Post-Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy with an emphasis in Healthcare Ethics and Administration. Her doctoral training was conducted at the University of Nijmegen, Medical Ethics Department in the Netherlands and at the VHA National Center for Ethics located in New York City. In 2009 she earned her Master of Arts in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Brandt accepted a full-time position as the Missouri Health Professions Consortium OTA Program Director in 2008 and is also a principle faculty member. In addition to her OTA Program Director duties, Dr. Brandt has been promoted to Associate Professional Practice Professor at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, and she serves as Co-Director at the MU Center for Health Ethics, where she works as a clinical ethics consultant and serves on multiple UMHS ethics related committees. Dr. Brandt has practiced as an occupational therapist and been in management positions for over 15 years. On the national front, Dr. Brandt was appointed to the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Ethics Commission in 2005 as OT Member-at-Large, where she reviewed ethics cases, wrote advisory opinions, and worked to revise the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and related standards. Most recently she sat on the Blueprint Committee Task Force for the AOTA and continues to review national data regarding curriculum development for occupational therapy programs.

MHPC Administrator

Kim Earney accepted the Administrative Associate position in March of 2009 and she coordinates the MHPC's fiscal & HR operations, as well as the OTA student admissions process. Kim earned her BA in Business Administration from Columbia College.
